The 1985 conference of the Pacific Area Travel Association will be held in Auckland, not Christchurch, as reported in “The Press” yesterday. The Minister of Tourism, Mr Talbot, was reported to have told a planning workshop in Christchurch that the conference would be held in Christchurch, but the chairman of P.A.T.A., Mr W. N. Plimmer, was reported earlier as having said that it would be in Auckland. The confusion arose because Mr Talbot, speaking in Christchurch said: “I am always delighted to see P.A.T.A. activities taking
place in New Zealand and I am very much looking forward to attending the P.A.T.A. conference here in 1985.”
