Basketball coach out
Mr Murray Mackay was last evening dismissed as coach of the 3ZM Canterbury senior men’s basketball team. The decision was made after a meeting of the executive of the Canterbury Basketball Association. Mr Mackay will retain his positions as the t association’s executive director and director of coaching. The Canterbury team is at iresent'sharing last place with ’orirua" in the Countywide
league championship, having won only twice in eight games. An assistant coach, Mr Darrell Todd, will replace Mr Mackay. Mr Mackay jgs been a coach of various Canterbury grade teams for the last seven seasons. He took over the league side last season, the team finishing third. Altogether, Canterbury teams under hut guidance have wony 56 out : ff 77 games, for aw success rate of 73 per cent
