Scaffolder reinstated

PA Whangarei A scaffolder who was sacked from the Marsden Point oil refinery expansion site in January has been reinstated. Mr Gordon Heisse has returned to work for the construction consortium after an out-of-court settlement agreed between the Labourers’ Union and JV2. TUB case was heard by

the Arbitration Court in April. At the time, Judge Williamson said it seemed to be a case where the company had not let its right hand know what its left hand was doing. - Union sources say that Mr Heisse’s out-of-court settlement included $2300 compensation, plus 40 hours pay, and reinstatement of 13 weeks redundancy allowance.
