Hatch Cup hockey squad
The Canterbury primary schoolboys’ hockey team to compete in the national Hatch Cup tournament from August 29 to September 3 in Blenheim includes two players from last year’s squad. Jason May (Redcliffs) and Andrew Hastie (St Marks) were, both named in the South Island tournament team last winter. The full squad is: Mathew
Berwick. Simon Marriot, May, Andrew Vanderbent, Karl Williams (Redcliffs); John Brennan, Andrew Stewart (Woolston); Phillip Burke, Richard Paynter (Harewood), Gerard Brade, Hastie (St Marks); Craig Iggo (Selwyn); Michael Webb (Rangiora); Mark Stevens (West Melton). The manager is Mr Graham Armitage, while Mr Murray Connor will coach the team.
