Cuts in movie
Sir, — It is interesting to note that “Damien-Omen II” was screened last Saturday evening. In the “Listener’s” words, it was “trimmed for TV.” How soon will it be before adults who have a democratic right to be considered as adults will be allowed (note: “allowed”) to see movies uncut? If the censors (what a word) do not feel that New Zealand adults can stomach such a movie in its entirety, then: what about themselves ... the censors I mean. Are they suffering the nightmares for us? The U.S.S.R. has censors ... as we also do! — Yours, etc., T. GUSTOFSON, Wellington. June 12, 1983.
