A chance to show your stamps
Stampex ’B3 is a New Zealand National . Youth Philatelic Exhibition for collectors between the ages of seven and 23.
The four-day exhibition will be held in the Auckland Town Hall from Wednesday, August 31, until Saturday, September 3.
Entries for the exhibition will be accepted in four age Ss, each age group subid into six classes. Entrants under 12 will be required to submit eight sheets, all other age groups require 16 sheets per entry. No entry fee will be charged.
A book titled “Stampex ’B3 — A Guide for Exhibitors” has just been published. Compiled by Stampex ’B3 Secretary, Mr Tom Lee, it gives young stamp collectors ideas and hints on how to prepare entries for competition. Sections such as Title Page, Arrangement, Knowledge, Condition, are all covered.
As a final guide the marking system to be used by the Judges for Stampex ’B3 is also given together with details of medal awards. In addition a magnificent variety of awards and prizes have been donated including the Grand
Award for the best individual entry. A major feature of the exhibition will be a 20 frame “Court of Honour” display of items relating to Health stamps from the archives of the New Zealand Post Office. , Young collectors wanting a copy of the book “Stampex ’B3 — A Guide for Exhibitors” and entry details should write to Stampex ’B3, P.O.
