Nelson rates cut 2.5 p.c.
PA Nelson The Nelson City Council will cut rates 2.5 per cent, believed to be the best deal a local authority has handed its ratepayers this year. The council achieved the cut because the wage-price freeze extension allowed it to reduce its wage and price contingency fund. But before the extension announcement, the council faced a rate increase of 0.4 per cent because of a credit surplus. f
