Adoption bill
Sir,—l am appalled that once again Parliament has recessed without bringing forward the Adult Adoption Information Bill. I thought our Government was for the people. The bill is important to thousands of New Zealanders or don’t they count, except on election day?— Yours, etc., MRS P. SELBY. May 7, 1983.
Sir,—ln. reference to June Peka’s letter (May 7) I could not have put it better. I know friends and relatives who are birth-mothers and adoptees. I have seen the mental anguish they have 'gone through. I seem to have lived it with them. I have studied the Adult Adoption information Bill and find that it has been written with great concern for both parties, so that they are
protected. What right has Mr Muldoon to hold back this very important issue when it involves so many thousands of New Zealanders.— Yours, etc.,
(Mrs) F. ANDREWS. May 7, 1983.
