Stabbed man found
PA Wellington Wellington detectives are investigating the stabbing to death of a man in the executive suburb of Crofton Downs.
They are trying to trace the movements of a man, aged in his 20s, who was carrying a green back pack. The inquiry follows up the discovery of a man’s body in his Winston Street flat about midnight on Saturday.
He was found by a friend. The dead man, aged 31, had not been named last evening as the police sought to inform relatives who are believed to be overseas.
Detective Inspector Bruce Scott said the police had not established a motive for the killing: “We have a completely open mind as to who might be responsible.” Mr Scott said no weapon had been found.
