Colts just beaten

Canterbury A beat the Canterbury Colts, 3-2, in a representative hockey match at Porritt Park yesterday afternoon. The match was played to give the Colts practice for the national tournament which starts in Christchurch today week. Canterbury A dominated the first-half and led, 2-0, at the interval through goals by Richard Schoeman and George Camoutsos.

The Canterbury A coach, Jim Bowden, made a number of changes to his team at the interval and the side took some time to settle after the break. David Grundy scored the Colts’ first goal but soon after Camoutsos added a third for the A team. Mark Tynan scored the second Colts' goal from a penaltystroke after Don Davis had cleared the ball from the circle with a sliding kick.
