Superannuation
Sir,—How many other people have the same feelings as myself on conflicting suggestions and remarks by politicians from all parties in respect to how superannuation should be changed? How can anyone be expected to provide for retirement in the atmosphere of constantly changing minds and policies? A classic example of this was the last Budget decision on lump-sum schemes and the progressive mess-ups since, which are still not sorted out. I consider that the time is long overdue for taking away the power of any government to change overnight anything in respect to superannuation. It should be handled by an isolated committee of competent people who can suggest changes on a longterm basis so that all have sufficient time to reorganise their personal situations. — Yours, etc., R. B. WALL. April 22, 1983.
