A star is born
The National Science Foundation has announced the birth of a star which it said was witnessed — an extremely rare event — by an American astronomer. The process leading up to a star’s birth takes around 10,000 years. By comparing a photograph of the Milky Way taken in 1976 from Cerro Tololo observatory in Chile with a shot of the same spot in 1983, Professor John A. Graham “observed” the event.—Washington.
