Y.M.C.A. council has new leader
The National Council of the Y.M.C.A. has a new
chief executive. Mr Ross Grantham will succeed Mr Peter Darrocott, who will step down after 10 years in the job, and 30 years with the Y.M.C.A. movement. Mr Grantham will take over the post at the beginning of July. He has been involved with the Y.M.C.A. in New Zealand since 1956, and took a leading role in building up membership
when he was assistant general secretary from 1958 to 1961. After becoming general manager of Rawleighs in New Zealand, Mr Grantham was transferred to Australia, where he was involved in youth and community work on the Brunswick advisory committee on unemployment. He is particularly concerned with employment opportunities for young Aboriginals and new immigrants.
