Search for N.Z. air photographer

PA Wellington A Dutch television documentary team is trying to trace a New Zealand photographer who took part in a London to Melbourne air race in 1934. A London spokesman for Dutch Television N.O.S. said they were making a documentary about “one of the most memorable races in commercial aviation history” to mark the race’s fiftieth anniversary, and wanted to track down Mr Frank Stewart, who was last heard of living in Auckland. During research for the programme, the television team discovered that Mr Stewart had accompanied Air Vice-Marshall C. Kay of New Zealand in the race, and took photographs throughout their flight.

The television company spokesman said they were keen to get in touch with Mr Stewart as both his photographs and recollections would be of immense interest. The race was promoted to mark Melbourne’s one-hun-dredth anniversary, and is being re-enacted by Dutch Television N.O.S. in time for the fiftieth anniversary of the event, in October next year. (Information of use in making the programme may be sent to Hans Verhoeven, London correspondent, Dutch Television N. 0.5., 45, The Ridgeway, Stanley Hill, Amersham, Bucks, Britain; or to Dutch TV N. 0.5., Tav. R. g Swanenburg, Horizon, lobox 10, Hilversum 1200. JB Holland.)
