Train ride to fair
Christchurch railway enthusiasts plan their next train excursion to the Waipara County May Fair. Rail Tours has scheduled the excursion for the last day of the week-end event on Sunday, May 8. The train will leave Christchurch at 11.20 a.m. for the hour-long trip and return at 5.10 p.m. A spokesman for the group, Mr Stephen Rice, said it would give some money from any ticket sales profit to the Weka Pass Railway Society, which organised the fair.
