Non-paying runners
Sir,—l would like to thank the runners who took part in the Sumner Round Table fun run on April 17. An estimated 3000-plus ran, and the entry fee was only 50 cents. I feel obliged to complain to the 1500 runners who did not pay. The run is conducted by our Round Table for the Multiple Sclerosis Society and all profits go to that society for education or research into that disease. If those runners who did not pay feel a little remorse at not paying their entry fee, any donations would be gratefully received for the Multiple Sclerosis Society at our address. We hope to see them run, and pay, in a bigger and better run next year. — Yours, etc., BRUCE ROBERTSON, Sumner Round Table, P.O. Box 17524, Sumner. April 22, 1983.
