‘Len’ charged Peter Adamson, the actbr who plays Len Fairclough in the television serial “Coronation Street,” is to appear before magistrates in Rossendale, Lancashire, on May 9 to face two charges of indecent assault. Adamson, aged 53; married with two sons, was arrested and held overnight at Haslingden Police Station in Lancashire. He was granted bail and returned home to Greater Manchester.—London. Massacre denied Vietnam has denied that its forces in Kampuchea had killed refugees on the Thai border with grenades and bayonets. The Vietnam News Agency said that Hanoi’s Foreign Ministry had released a statement which labelled the alleged
massacre “a. sheer fabrication.”—Bangkok.
Missile protest
Thousands of Canadians took to the streets to protest against plans to test the American cruise missile in western Canada. Demonstrations were held from coast-to-coast in a co-ordi-nated protest that was the biggest sign yet of public resistance to the tests.— Ottawa. Deep space flight The American Pioneer 10 space probe is flying past the orbit of Pluto, about three billion kilometres from Earth .where it was launched IOVa years ago. The spacecraft will continue past Neptune on June 13, leaving the solar system for its journey into deep space, say National Aeronautics and Space Administration officials.—Washington.
