Minister makes pledge
PA Queenstown Adequate protection for the plastics industry was pledged by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Templeton, in Queenstown at the week-end.
Mr Templeton, who was opening the Plastic Institute’s annual conference, said , that the Government’s shift from import licensing to tariffs would not leave the industry unprotected. “The objective is ade-1 •J*
quate protection in place of excessive protection,” he said. The president of the institute, Mr John Gibb, said that without adequate tariffs the plastics industry could not survive. > ~
