PA Dunedin Canterbury proved too strong for Otago in an interprovincial men’s basketball double header held in Dunedin at the week-end.

Otago started well and after 10 minutes trailed 912, but a spurt of baskets to Bert Knops and Clyde Huntley, of Canterbury, off the fast break, saw Canterbury go out to a 31-11 lead. Spurred on by the large crowd, Otago then fought its way back into the match and at half-time had whittled the lead back to 9 points, at 37-28.
