Gifts for victims
PA Wellington Employees at General Motors New Zealand, Ltd’s three Hutt Valley plants have collected $2OOO for the benefit of their Australian colleagues at General Motors-Holden, Ltd, who lost homes and possessions in the bushfires. GM-Holden’s Dandenong plant in Victoria is close to areas where whole communities were destroyed and it was employees of their plant who suffered the most serious losses, the company said. However, many other employees of G.M.H. plants in Woodville, South Australia, and Elizabeth, and Fishermen’s Bend, Melbourne, were also affected by the fires and suffered losses.
