Rural deliveries: No deliveries, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Public telex: 9.30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Sunday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday. Street boxes: Cleared 7 p.m. Friday, Sunday, Monday, 9 a.m. Saturday. Post offices: Cleared 7 p.m. Friday, Sunday 9 a.m. Saturday, 7 p.m. and 9.30 p.m. Monday. Private boxes: No sorting to private boxes at district post offices Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Sorting to private boxes at postal centre 11 a.m. Friday, Sunday, Monday as normal Saturday. Closing of mails: Surface 7 a.m. Friday and Monday, 8 a.m. Sunday as normal Saturday. Air, 8 a.m. Friday, Sunday, Monday as normal Saturday.
Telegraph services: Closed Friday, Saturday,
Sunday, Monday. The public telephones outside the Chief Post Office are available for toll calls* and telegrams when the counter is closed. Week-end bread: Fresh bread baked today, Saturday, Tuesday. No Sunday bread available. Late shopping: City, Papanui, and Northlands, Thursday evening. Saturday shopping: All shopping centres normally open on Saturday will be open as usual. Bus services: Friday and Sunday, Sunday timetable; Saturday and Monday, Saturday timetable. Rubbish collection: In Christchurch City, Heathcote and Riccarton, Friday collections will be made today, and Monday collections on Tuesday. Waimairi, Friday and Monday collections as usual. Paparua’s Friday domestic collection will be made today. Monday’s collection on Tuesday, Friday’s rural collection as usual. Newspapers: No daily newspapers on Good Friday.
