F.O.L. criticised

PA Auckland New Zealand’s economic downturn will not “turn round” until employees stop industrial action and get on with their work, says the president of the Auckland Employers’ Association, Mr Peter Johnson. “It is almost treasonable to stop work while you have

a job,” said Mr Johnson. He said that the reported statement by the president of the Federation of Labour, Mr J. W. Knox, that the F.O.L. might seek a boycott of New Zealand exports to' back its wage claims was irresponsible. “That would only put more people on the dole,” he said.
