Australian horses dominant
Eight Australian horses, four pacers and a like number of trotters, “killed” their New Zealand counterparts at the Inter-Dominion Championship carnival. They will return home this week with $238,560 of what their connections refer to as this country’s “funny
money.” Heading the list of Australian winners is Gammalite with $114,855, followed by the splendid trotter, Scotch Notch, with $49,210, Popular Alm with $44,050, Wondai’s Mate with $18,055, Downsouth Clare with $5595, Mighty Miller with $2660, Royal Three with $1770 and Skipper Don with $365.
