Minister ends visit
NZPA Manila The Minister of Defence, Mr Thomson, left for home yesterday after a five-day visit to the Philippines. Mr Thomson, on the last leg of a South-East Asian tour which also took him to Malaysia and Singapore, held talks with senior Philippine officials and called on President Marcos. The Presidential Palace said that Mr Thomson and Mr Marcos discussed the possible expansion of military co-operation between the two countries.
At present, some members of the Philippines armed forces go for training in New Zealand each year.
