Skill with poi
Hirani Maaka, aged 19, of the Kotahitangi Maori Club in Christchurch, gives a demonstration of her skill with a poi before leaving with other members of the club for the annual Polynesian festival at Hastings today and tomorrow. The club is one of two in Christchurch which will compete at the festival. The other is the Kati Otautahi Club, which won the elimination finals for the festival in Christchurch in 1981.
