C. Nordqvist suspended
Carl Nordqvist, the-driver of Alicante in the Methven Breeders Stakes at the Methven meeting on Wednesday, was suspended up to and including March 9 for causing interference to Equality in the home straight Trevor Thompson (Gateau) was fined $5O for using foul language in the same race to Mrs Lorraine Grant (Blue Sapphire). The language was overheard by a stipendiary steward stationed at the top of the home straight. Leo May, the driver of Continuous’in the McKendry Memorial, was fined $75 for attempting to improve with insufficient room at the 1400 m, causing his horse to break.
