Parliamentary reporter The member - of Parliament for Rangiora. Mr Derek Quigley, yesterday defended Rural Bank loans to the Auckland businessman, Mr John Spencer. Land development loans and livestock development grants had always been available through the Rural Bank regardless of the applicant's capital or income posi-
tion. provided that an approved development plan designed to increase production was submitted and kept to, Mr Quigley said.' “Many thousands of acres of extra land have been brought into production and millions of extra sheep and cattle are now grazing on our farms because of these schemes, or others like them.” he said.
