Ski lodge burgled

' A pool table was slashed and a stereo and fittings smashed when the Canterbury Students’ Association ski lodge at Mount Hutt was burlged last week. The front glass door was broken to gain entry. An axe was then used to smash objects apparently, at random. according to SeniorSergeant W. J. Porter, of the Ashburton police. Internal windows and wall and light fittings were also damaged with an ; axe. An acoustic guitar was smashed and another apparently stolen. A watch, a camera, crockery, and sleeping bags were among'other items damaged. A fire hose was left running. which caused water damage. It is thought the burglary occurred between January 25 and January 31.
