Porno billing angers group
PA Auckland An Auckland group plans to complain to the film cen-
sor about the billing of an anti-poronography film as part of a “sizzling sex triple." The film. "Not a Love Story." was shown at the Mayfair cinema in Sandringham with "Emanuelle in Free Love” and "Do You Want to Remain a Virgin For Ever?” and given an RlB restriction. But a Woman Against Poronography spokeswoman. Ms Louise’Leitcher, said that the film was being used once again to exploit women. The Canadian Film Board had provided a series of questions for discussion to accompany the film which was initially shown with an R2O certificate to film festival audiences. “Amalgamated Theatres was behind getting the censorship changed. To turn round and sell it as poronography is downright dishonest," Ms Leitcher said. “We hardly think that the type of person who goes along to see "Emanuelle in Free Love" is going to learn about how poronography is degrading to women.” Ms Leichter said the original intention was to make the film available to women s groups and other interested audiences. A letter would also be written to the Canadian film Board. The owner of the Mayfair declined to comment.
