Two Bob Party
Sir—Laughter has been called “the music of the soul." In recent times our souls have been subjected to the “fret and strife” of living and precious little music. Therefore, I would
strongly disagree with A. J. Thorpe (January 26) regarding his disappointment in vour leading article on the Two Bob Party. To me. fatigued by this largely humourless world, it was an oasis in the desert. To be able to laughter at oneself is necessary; to be able to laugh at our political leaders, indispensable for sanity — not laughter that obliterates social conscience or desire to act, but laughter that refreshes. Please, sir, give us more. — Yours, etc., JILL WILCOX. January 26, 1983.
