Mask causes confusion
NZPA Tel Aviv An Israeli who must wear a mask because of facial wounds suffered in the Lebanon war is appealing to the police to stop trying to arrest him. Avi Suissa told Israeli newspapers that since being discharged from a hospital recently, he had twice been stopped at gunpoint by police who suspected he was a robber. He said he had to wear the
mask to protect his healing wounds from infection. At his request, the Maariv newspaper had published a photograph of him in his mask, and the licence number of his car. Suissa said he was waiting for his brother outside a bank when police surrounded his car at gunpoint. A similar incident occurred two days later. Each time the police x apologised and let him go, he x said.
