Crucifixion date?

A British scientist has uncovered evidence which he says may help pinpoint the' date of the Crucifixion of Christ to Friday, April 3, A.D. 33. Richard Stephenson, senior research fellow at Durham University in northern England, has discovered that a partial lunar eclipse, a feature of the Bible account of the Crucifixion, took place on that day. The eclipse was the only one of the era which could have been seen from Jerusalem, he said. Ancient records would have to be checked further because the Bible had referred to the sun’s turning the colour of blood, an effect not usually associated with lunar eclipses, he said.—London.
