Australian shot
An Australian has been shot dead in the central Philippines in front of his fiancee of only a few hours. Darlene Tadena had just accepted a marriage proposal from a printing machine firm director, Sydney Hannon, aged 64, when he was killed by a former seaman. He is alleged to have shot Mr Hannan during an argument over the rental for his car, which the Australian had been using since arriving in the area. — Manila.
