The first outward expression was seen in the events at Bethlehem and. today, that faith-love, at once so powerful and so fragile, is still seen in our demented world: It is seen in the caring of the nurse in the refugee camp . . . In the family nursing their wife and mother through the long battle with cancer . . . In the trust of the little child as she puts her hand in yours to follow . . . In the forgiveness we can show in response to personal wrongs . . . In the indignation that can blaze out at wrongs done to others . . . In the listening ... the offering of hospitality . . . the sharing of love. All this and more comes from the Christmas experience. “Does it work?” It does indeed if the Babe of Bethlehem .becomes, the. Master of His Disciples and leads us in His way of open yet conquering love.
