‘Dead’ child saved

A girl, aged 2V«, was resuscitated by three St John ambulance officers after she fell into a private swimming pool, at a house in Kilmore Street yesterday afternoon. A ’St John ambulance man said'that the child was clinicaltj.dead after her parents ha® dragged her out of the pool. She was admitted to Christchurch Hospital for observation. Her name was not available last evening. In another incident, a boy, aged nine, was rescued by a passer-by as he was being swept out to sea off Kairaki Beach yesterday morning. The police said that the boy had been left with three other children at the Kairaki motor ■ camp paddling pool but had become bored and gone to the beach, where he got into difficulties. He did not require treatment after his rescue.
