Public Notices AKAROA COUNTY COUNCIL I RESTRICTED FIRE SEASON . NOTICE is hereby given pursu- , ant to Section 22(2) of the For- ■ est and Rural Fires Act 1977 that a restricted fire season exists from Friday. December : 17. 1982 until .March 31. 1983. The restricted fire season ■ shall apply to the whole area of the Akaroa County. During the restricted fire season it is an offence to light ; any fire in the open without a 1 written permit from fire ; officer for the area. ; Portable thermettes and ' barbecues are permitted only : in the areas sign-posted for ' that purpose. These are located approximately as follows: I PIGEON BAY - Two metres below seashore edge and I fronting Domain and adjacent to slipway. i LE BONS BAY - North end of beach and five metres be- | low marram grass. I LITTLE AKALOA - Seashore I at main bridge. I OKAINS BAY’ - Ten metres below the marram grass or inside the concrete enclosure provided at the beach. AKAROA - On Netball Court south of grandstand. ROBINSONS BAY - picnic spot by boat launching area. DUVAUCHELLE - Opposite Hall, between road and seashore. FRENCH FARM - Opposite Valley Road, between road and seashore. WAINUI - Beach access track, to Cemetery Road, between road and seashore. Permanent barbecues should be inspected and a permit issued by the Local Fire Officer before being used. LAKE SUMNER-ARTHURS PASS TRAMPING TRIPS Ages 14 - 18 years ■There will be two groups on the tramping trips, 4-12 January. Applicants should have had previous tramping experience. Cost will be $95.
