Levy plan deferred

PA Wellington A proposed new schedule of accident compensation levies for employers based on accident experience over three years has been deferred by the Government. The managing director of the Accident Compensation Corporation. Mr J. L. Fahy, said that .the change would have to wait until after the wage-price freeze.

There was also no change in the levy rate for the selfemployed which now stood at 1.07 per cent of assessable income determined for levy purposes. “In making these depisions the Government was concerned that employers and the self-employed involved would not be able to pass on increased costs because of the price freeze," he said.
