PA Napier . The wool market showed a slight upturn on the second day of the Napier sale yesterday. The full-length wools on offer showed particularly good colour, resulting in buyers bidding with confidence. . .<• • The offering was 31,300 bales. The main competition came from China for finer wools and from New Zealand carpet mills for 36-micron wool and coarser. Eastern and Western European buyers also supported the market. .. ■*< ‘ The Wool Board bid on 18.8 per cent and bought 3.4 per cent. The adjusted weighted average sale price'; was 255.17 c a kilogram. Based on this, a Government supplementary payment of 25.4 per cent will apply to all wool sold at the sale' and all wool sold privately from midnight
on December 15' to midnight on December 16. The market indicator was 237c.
