J. Cassidy suspended

PA Wellington The winning rider in the Avondale Gold Cup at the Avondale Jockey Club’s meeting on Wednesday, Jim Cassidy, was suspended for causing interference in the last race, the Concorde Handicap. The judicial committee found that Cassidy, on Brenlaine, was guilty of careless riding in allowing his mount to move in on the line of So Dandy as the horses left the back straight. Divine Style also suffered interference.

Cassidy was suspended for two riding days, up to and including tomorrow.
