Firearm arrest
A Christchurch man. aged 22. was arrested after threatening the owner of a Wharenui Road hamburger bar with a firearm last evening. Senior-Sergeant A. M. Andrews said that the police arrested the man on neighbouring premises soon after 11.5 p.m. He had allegedly been removed from the Dixieland Hamburger Bar and then returned to threaten the proprietor. Two more firearms, a machete, and a knife were found in his nearby car. The man will appear in court this morning.
