Aid to Africa
Sir,—D. L. Quartermain writes (December 9) of “the not inconsiderable sums of money forwarded to African freedom fighters by the National Council of Churches ..." I have been responsible for the overseas aid work of the National Council of Churches for five years and a half and not in that period, nor before it, has there been any allocation of funds to African freedom fighters. D. L. Quartermain should check the facts before writing. — Yours, etc.. REV. BRIAN TURNER. Director. Christian World Service Division. National Council of Churches. December 10, 1982.
