Vocational and non-vocational
Sir,—What a crazy lookingglass world we live in. At a time when job opportunities are dramatically shrinking and leisure time rising, we seem to have the major thrust of our educational resources directed into education for jobs. Nonvocational courses are the poor cousins, while organisations like the W.E.A. which have always given a lead in the careful management of finance, are given the chop. I only wish., that like Alice, I could recktfh on a short stay in
this nonsense world and a return to a saner' one where human values also count. - Yours, etc., JILL WILCOX. December 9, 1982.
