GOVERNMENT OF NEW ZEALAND Ministry of Works vaV and Development CONTRACT FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A NATURAL DRAUGHT COOLING TOWER AT OHAAKI REGISTRATION OF INTEREST THE MINISTER OF Works and Development is to invite tenders in April, 1983 for the design and construction of a natural draught cooling tower at Ohaaki. which is adjacent to State Highway 5,53 km south of Rotorua, in the North Island of New Zealand. he contract will comprise the thermal and civil design and construction of a tower to dissipate 420 MW of heat from geothermal condensate. It is intended that the contract will be awarded in December 1983 for completion in September 1986. Firms or associations of firms having the appropriate capability are invited to register their interest in tendering for the contract. They should submit details of recent experiences and indicate associations. Bidders shall use a New Zealand firm or organisation competent and experienced in seismic design of large structures.- Association of an overseas firm with a competent New Zealand company familiar with the legislation and industrial situation in New Zealand construction is considered essential.
