Bishopdale sections ballot popular
The Housing Corporation | in Christchurch found a I ready market for Bishopdale ; sections it offered for sale by ballot recently. 1 All but one of the 23 i sections in the Trafford i Street sub-division were sold ( on the first day, and the remaining one was allocated < the next day. ' i The corporation’s Christ- { church manager, Mr Donald j Cattanach, said that the s division had been the cor-" poration’s “most popular t offering for some time.” i Preference was given to 1 first-home seekers, who ac- t counted for 19 of the 23 I buyers. per cent deposit with the balance to be paid in 15 years. Most were planning to build within the next 12 months which should be good news for builders, said Mr Cattanach. The ballot was part of the corporation’s policy of providing alpegular supply of good sections at reasonable prices and on easy terms, he said. The next corporation sections to be put on the market would be in the Broomfield Block at Hornby. Mr Cattanach said that they would be offered for sale yearly next year.
