N.Z. yachtsman lies seventh
NZPA Sydney .The New Zealand yachtsman. Richard Mcßride, lies in seventh place on the water as the fleet in the singlehanded round the world yacht challenge approaches Sydney on the event’s second leg. Mcßride is sailing Spirit of
Dunedin, a 42ft schooner, named after his home port. The leading boat in the race is now expected in Sydney on Sunday, December ,19. . The race leader.. Philippe Jeantot, sailing Credit Agricole. reported yesterday that he was 2500 nautical miles
from Sydney and south-south-west of Perth. The race began at Newport Rhode Island, in the United States, and ended its first leg at Cape Town in South Africa. ■ From Sy'dney the yachts will sail for Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and then back to Newport.
