General forecast: In the northern half of the North Island there should be a few scattered showers and not much wind. In the southern North Island scattered showers are expected with winds turning south-west, fresh for a time in some coastal areas as a weak cold front moves on to the North Island. It should be mainly fine in the west of the South Island and scattered showers in the east and south of the South Island should clear.

District forecasts: Canterbury: South-westerlies dying out and becoming fine. Marlborough: Cool southwesterlies fresh for a time with scattered' showers, then clearing. Nelson: Becoming fine with light winds. Buller, Westland: Becoming fine; fresh westerlies in far south. Outlook: Mainly fine in all districts.
