PA . Auckland A former L. D. Nathan , employee who was "contaminated by a contagion of dishonesty" was yesterday fined $2OO in the District Court at Otahuhu for theft as a servant. Peter Richard Bixley. aged 21. a former storemanpacker. of Manurewa. appeared before Judge J. H. Hall. His lawyer. Mr E.

McDonald, told the Court that Bixley had stolen the goods, valued at less than $3O. only on the request of a bogus employee who had been hired as an undercover investigator. Sentencing Bixley, Judge Hall said: “1 can only say . . . that you were contaminated by 'this contagion of dishonesty that swept through the' Nathans store.”
