Redundancy pay-out
PA Wellington About 600 former Patea freezing workers will be paid a total of almost $2,400,000 in redundancy money this week. Payments for individual workers will range from about $BOO to about $9500, with a few receiving more. The average will be almost $4OOO. Negotiations over payments for some meat workers have still to be completed between the former owner of the works, W. and R. Fletcher, Ltd, and the Meat Workers’ Union:
