Wadsworth dog wins trials

A Blenheim trainer, M. A. Wadsworth, won the final of the sheep dog trials in the ring at the Royal Show yesterday with the son of the dog he considers is his best. The dog which did Mr Wadsworth proud yesterday was Toi, but Mr Wadsworth said afterwards that Toi’s sire, Boss, was the better dog, Mr Wadsworth was presented with a shepherd’s

crook for winning by the Governor-General. Sir David Beattie. The crook was provided by the Canterbury A. and P. Association. Second in the event was G. Allison, of Fairlie, with his dog Ken and third was C. S. Striiiger, of Coalgate, with his dog Nell. On points Mr Wadsworth was a clear winner, with 107, followed by Mr Hallison with 103.5 and Mr Stringer with 101.5.
