Three Canterbury records were broken on the recent opening day of the Canterbury Veterans’ Athletic Club. ■Annette Horsnell set a new time of 14.26 s in winning the W45 100 m and also broke the W45 shot record with a distance of 7.22 m. The third record fell to the

former New Zealand champion. Arthur Grayburn, in the M 55 javelin. He achieved 42.34 m. Other performances of note included an M4O 1500 m run of 4min 43s by M. Fraser, an M4O 5000 m road race win in 16min 21s by P. Watts, and an M6O shot of 12.10 m and a javelin throw of 31.10 m by Dave Gibson.
